Well I usually dont buy forzen pork ribs to begin with but in southern WI there is a pork processor that has dome very good Ribs called Calumet meats in pleasant prarie that sells frozen meat. I stop at from time to time when in the area as they carry some convenient allen bros meats for cheap (i think they may supply allen bros their pork).

a few weeks ago they had really nice looking baby backs ribs for 2.99 lb frozen in packs of two cryovaced. I bought a couple of packs and last friday took a pack out and put it in the fridge thinking I'd get a chance to cook on Saturday or Sunday. That didn't happen and now I'm trying to decide if they are still good. Interestingly the cryovac wasnt that tight but at only one end of the bag. I havent broken it and done a smell test.

Any thoughts on how to tell if these are still good?? I'm inclined to pitch them as its $12.00 and that beats getting sick or getting someone sick but I was looking for insights before I take that step.

Thanks

It's very unlikely there would be any cause for worry as far as pathogens are concerned. Odor (caused by spoilage bacteria not pathogens, which have no odor) might be present - but might be anyway since they were cryo'd. Remove them from the package and let them air (you can rinse if you wish; I don't bother) for 20 min or so and see.
