Is wild willy's #1 rub an all-purpose rub or is it more for butts than ribs? I was hoping to stretch the end of my bad byron rub in time for opening day at the "RALPH" home of the buffalo bills sept 9th but i dont think it will last. By the way is anyone taking their wsm to opening day?

From Smoke & Spice '94 edition, page 36:

This is our main all-purpose rub, good on ribs, brisket, chicken, and more.
HTH,

Bill

A little less than 1/8th of the volume is sugar. For my tastes, that is too much for beef or chicken, esp. if you like to do chicken at higher temps where the sugar would burn. It may be intended as an all-purpose rub, but I think it would work best on pork butt or ribs.
