I recently got an older performer with fiberglass table, no gas assist. I think it's 2nd gen. Basically regular kettle with ash catcher + table. This unit has one big issue - bottom bowl is rusted through in 3 places where mounts for legs (for normal kettle) are welded to it. Those mounts are barely holding with the bowl and even ash catcher is about to fall down. I am monitoring marketplace for a good deal for a kettle so I can replace the bowl. But how do I fix the mounts that attaches bowl to cart? Those mounts are bolted to the cart, but welded not bolted to the bowl. I know there are aftermarket mounts available, but those are expensive and I don't really want to invest a lot into this grill. Only way I could think about is to use my angle cut grinder and cut old mounts off of old bowl and just bolt em to a replacement bowl.
Instead I desided to ask here maybe there is a better solution already found. Thanks yall.
