Some may know back in fall of 92 we bought a Genesis 2 red head. Had it for years. In 2017 when my then new son in law and my daughter bought their house I gifted them my old Genesis 2 (by then converted to a 3) with addition of a side burner. When they had the house re-roofed the roofers crushed the grill with a piece of equipment. Well thanks to one of our generous members (Gerry Schaeffer) having an extra frame, (an old cross way one), and I installed all the pieces onto the "new" frame. Well recently the grease tray rails of the original now 33 yo fire box gave way and the grease tray fell down. So, I'd ended up giving the SIL the firebox from my last brown top Genesis who's frame was so rotted away I had literally nothing left to work with. So, basically scrapped it out.
So today we did a firebox swap on my old original (though now the only things original is the lid and the manifold
)
But it's the sentiment I guess. Sorry no photos but the old grill was back up and operational within an hour
