I have what I think is a 1100 grill. I am not exactually sure (bought it used ) as pictures of some grills look a lot alike. I really don't like the wood slats on the work table etc. Has anyone replaced theirs with another material

Bob, I'm not sure if your asking for a different material other than wood or unhappy with the condition of the wood you currently have. There have been quite a few rehabs posted with photos on the forum that have replaced the wood slats with different types of wood that were stained or varnished and they all turned out quite nicely.

I just completed a full rehab on my Genesis 3000. I replaced my wood slats with red oak and then used Spar varnish to protect the wood. Here's a link with photos if your interested.

Weber sold a gray composite slat shelf for side tables and lower shelf area called Durawood. They were compatible with many older grills including the 1100 series. A quick Google search and it appears they may be hard to find. I did find this Durawood lower shelf and their suggested replacements for the side table and flip-up side table which appears is a solid plastic similar in color to the composite Durawood.

I am not familiar with this site but it does reference the product(s) I mentioned with their model numbers. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for you reply and kudos on your beautiful restore job. I am considering a different type of wood but was also looking for other ideas others may have.
