Remote Meat thermometer

I am in need of a affordable remote thermometer, I would like good one that reads actual meat temp, I do not need the fancist one as I do not use everyday. Maybe after I get better at slow cooking I can justify a better unit.

Thanks for your experience and opinions.

I have Redi-Check remote but the remote sometimes just loses the connection. Now I only use it at Christmas for turkey, keeps Mom happy. My go-to therm is a Polder, it's not a remote but it tells me the pit temp and meat temp. I've had for four years and it still passes the boiling water test.

Thanks Jim I will have research this Polder unit never heard of it but then I never slowed cooked either before I started reading here.
