$100, forgot it came with a cover and some tools too. He said he is just going to buy another one and fix it up where he is moving to in South Carolina. If I move I am taking my grills with me for sure. How much did you pay for that.
Yeah I definitely went after it for the value of the other items that came with it, grill grates are expensive and I have never used a set before. I can always use more propane tanks.I wouldn't pay $100 just for the grill, but the "Grill Grates" cost something pretty close to that alone I think.
Will do, thanks!Congrats on the score! Send pictures with the progress.
Planning to keep it?Nice pickup. I’m going to get a free redhead later today myself which will be my first one.
The grill grates cost 90, the Weber covers aren't cheap, neither are stainless flavor bars, the drip pan is in great shape as well, I feel like I got the grill for free and paid for the accessories. Needs some work, but in the end it will make a nice addition to the collection.Nice score. Around here and in Phoenix $100 for A Genesis 1000 is a bargain now, everyone thinks their clapped out genesis is a treasure.
Most are asking in the $125-175 range. With what you got with it that was a great deal.
I picked it up last night. Didn’t take any pictures unfortunately and the CL poster deleted the listing. The frame and manifold are in very good shape. The shelves look like cedar from a distance but I think they are painted. The end caps and firebox have the white coating that is common. It did cone with two sets of grates. Cast iron and steel. The steel ones are shot.Planning to keep it?

As soon as I got there, I immediately got to work to dismantle the grill. I’m getting the hang of it as this is my fourth pickup. I did have trouble getting one burner tube off. Probably needs penetrating oil.
I’ll try to take some photos once I get it out of my car later today.
Exactly what I meant Bruce, Thanks. Those screws on the left should not be removed. As you say, they just hold the tubes in place and are not designed to be removed. Most of the time if you try to remove them, they will twist off.
