Several years ago I bought a weber side-burner at a hardware store close out and installed it in place of the wood surface on the left side. I always wanted to add some kind of a handle to the end like on the silver.

My question is will the handle for the newer models like the silver fit the old 1000. They look like they have the same tube size is the distance between the frame tubes the same?
