Really have to wonder about Home Depot sometimes............

I was in HD yesterday and fortunately I wasn't there to buy Kingsford as I used that $15 off $50 coupon and ordered 3 twin packs + 22.5 hinged grate and a package of the Fire and Flavor Chicken Brine to get it over $50. Looking forward to giving this brine a try as its supposed to be really good!

Anyway I stopped in HD to get a Ryobi Pressure Washer plus some wood slats for doing the railing around our deck and after picking up those items I decided to go over to the Grilling section of course just to take a look. NO Kingsford anywhere! I looked over by the Garden section as they usually put a pallet or two there during the sale but nada. Looked around the checkout area in the front and none there either. WTH? I thought maybe I just missed it so went back to teh grilling section and there were a couple pallets stacked up on the top of the shelf.

I overheard two employees discussing how to get those down and they didn't have a clue. I guess the person who normally does that wasn't scheduled to come into work until later in the afternoon or something like that.

Man, if you're going to put Kingsford on sale at least get a pallet or two down off the shelf when the sale starts.

Poor planning on their part.

Definitely.

Lowes was the exact opposite. I went in there to pick up my order and buy a couple more bags with Lowes Consumer Credit Card to get 5% off, and they had a couple pallets right next to the Customer Service section.

Needless to say, I'm good for charcoal for a while. :D I'll stock up again during the Labor Day Sale to get through until the next Memorial Day Sale.

Not defending them, but crap happens. I work in retail. Turnover is usually pretty high and at times the blind must lead the blind. I'm personally pretty impressed that the two workers at least recognized the need for the charcoal to be taken down. Who knows? If one of them or both becomes licensed, then they can focus on the next problem, because there are always more than just one.
