Alright - you guys taught me to do the pulled pork and i thank you all.

I now have a bunch of vacu-sealed frozen meat.

DETAILS PLEASE on how to reheat. Including how to boil the bags.

Thank you all - happy holidays

I'll assume you have chosen to package it in increments of 1-2 pounds: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Drop in your packets, the number at a time depending on how big the pot. Turn off the heat and wait 8-15 minutes. Carefully cut open packet and serve.

Amazing - 10 minutes and i have answers. I love this place.

Yes - sorry - i should have mentioned - 1 pound per packet.

Thanks Doug

If you want to nuke it, this takes a bit of finessing as it depends on how much you're reheating and how much your microwave puts out. Generally, I start out at 50% power for a couple/3 minutes for a 1-pound vacpac. Check it, rotate/invert it and as it thaws, squeeze it a bit to move it around within the packet. I decrease the power as I go to avoid overcooking. Keep an eye on it ~ I once mistakenly added a zero and aborted just before the balloon exploded!

My technique is similiar to Bill Hays, but different.

I take the package out of the freezer stab it with a knife a few times to add some holes (keeps it from exploding) and then nuke it for about three minutes. That usually does the trick, but sometimes it may need an additional minute.

I also don't have intentions of reusing the bag.

Hope this helps.
