Raspberry Pi Differences

I was wondering if there is any difference in the Raspberry Pi B units that would effect the HM 4.2.4. I have the B from my HM 4.0 and have to order ones for 2 new builds. I could just take the 2 year old Raspberry Pi B out of the old HM and then only order 1 new unit but don't know if it will make any difference.
TIA

Be careful where you order the B version. Don't order from a company called "Tristate camera" They have B Pi's listed on their webpage for reasonable price, and it shows it as a B version. They will ship you a B+ and when you call after you find out they shipped the wrong version, you have to pay to ship it back, they wont pay shipping cost for their mistake.

The B versions work great, its the preferred version to get along with the A version. The new B+ version will not work with the Heatermeter. The A+ will work fine also, but it has issues with some wifi adapter chipsets but works great with Edimax wifi adapters.

Hello. I am building an HM for the first time, and I know nothing about the Raspberry Pi. I have learned here that the B+ is a no-no. I think I also read that the A+ requires some modification to the HM PCB assembly. I think I see that the difference between the A and B is memory (512 v 256), and ports.

What are the differences that are key to the HM? Is memory a factor? Is an ethernet port desireable?

The A+ requires these modifications to be made. Ideally they should be done while assembling the board rather than afterwards, to make things easier.

The 256MB of RAM on the A+ isn't an issue at all, so no worries there. The B versions have onboard wired ethernet, making the initial setup of the heatermeter a little easier, but you shouldn't have much trouble using the new AP mode that allows you to connect and configure the unit over wifi only.
