Quick hitter regarding Gen 1000 burners

Hello all....I am helping a friend that just scored a nice green top 1000 in really good condition. I have several sets of Silver B burners brand new Weber brand. It has been a long while since I restored a 1000 but correct me if I am wrong. Arent the 1000 burners just a smidge longer then the silver B's? I recall being able to use a Silver B burner tube but knowing and understanding that it worked but fell short about 1/4". Am I remembering this correctly? I think the Genesis Golds were the same way correct?

IDK which was which but they sure are not interchangeable. I just can't recall which was longer

Silver B burners are not as long as 1000 burners.

Genesis 1000s and early Golds used the same burners, manifolds, drip pans, and even the same cookbox outer dimensions

Yah, 1000 burners are longer than Silver B burners and not compatible. I would not try to make them so, either. You can get a new set for the 1000 on Amazon for about $25 probably.
