Q 220 or Q300 Series

Been a charcoal only guy for a while and its time to expand my horizon into the gas frontier. I'm lusting after a Genesis but the price tag is way too steep for me and the Spirit just doesn't look right to me either. So I was researching the Weber Q line and had no idea of its depth and versatility. I was at the local Ace and noticed just how big the 300/320 is and am asking the forum if anyone has both a 220 and a 300 series and the pros and cons.

I plan on the gas grill being the main grill for a family of 4 cooking quick cooking items like steaks, chicken (spatchcock is my favorite way to cook it), burgers, dogs, brats, veggies, fruit. For the low and slow I can either use my WSM or L BGE.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I have both of the Q300 series, 1 new and one lightly used. I also have a Q220 in the RV. Trust me, you want the Q320, because it cones with all the bells and whistles in the first place.
Secondly, the Q320 has 2 burners, which gives more versatility with your cooks, there are plenty of Q cooks posted on this forum that will demonstrate that.
And last, it works just fine for 1 or 2 person cooks, but with all the real estate the Q300's offer, you can cook for a crowd. the Q200 series is smaller and more portable, but it sounds like portability isn't an issue for most of your cooks.
I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions, but I think most will echo my advice!!
Post pictures of your cooks...

I have the Q320 and as Tom mentioned, it's got alot of real estate, but it's big, heavy, and bulky to move around for camping or tailgating. I modded mine so that I can remove the stand with thumbscrews so you can actually get it in the back of a Tahoe, and I just use it on a folding table, but still, it's a large load. It's great if you are cooking a full meal for a family plus, but I'm actually thinking about picking up a Q220 or even a Q120 for tailgating when it's just me and my wife. So, it really comes down to what your use is traveling-wise, what you have available to haul the thing with, and how much capacity you need.

Thanks for the advice, It seems like the 2 burns really add a level of versatility to the 300 series. I intend to have the gasser sitting on my deck so I don't care about portability. Now I may have to wait for a NG model since the house I just bought has a direct line near my deck ;)!

For picnics I'll probably pick up the 120 or use my Smokey Joe

BTW: Our friends down in Australia do some really neat things with the Qs; and where can I get my hands on a Weber trivet?

Thanks for the advice. I got a Q220 this weekend and a brick red Weber Performer! (Now I need a buyer for an old L BGE ). Fired up the Q220 it gets hot fast. Grilling and loving it. Impressions on the 220 so far, grill roasted spaghetti squash and burger. Just dialed in the temp and it stayed (with an old 1pound propane bottle), the squash had a nice subtle smokiness to it. burgers were yummy and no burned flare-ups.

Waiting to increase the grilling with my two new purchases.

Congrats on the new items! I have those grills as well, (yep, even in brick red) it's a great combo! The Q makes excellent grilled cheese sandwiches by the way, very tasty!

Pizza is fun too...
