As some may recall, when the freight company delivered my original Z Grill they managed to do damage to it. Sam's was kind enough to simply send another one (though sadly with the same freight company) and yet again some damage too place, though in a way that was either A, hidden/internal or B, easy enough for me to repair.
So I finally had time the other day to begin unwrapping it and doing assembly. And, fixing the few little areas that needed fixing from the ham fisted shipping company.
I think I will try to do a first fire up and burn in tomorrow in front before I install the large shelf it comes with to make sure there are no operational issues. If not I will have the neighbor decide for sure if he wants to buy the original (which he has indicated he's very anxious to do). If so I will put all the brand new innards (grates, large heat deflector, flame deflector, etc) into the original grill so it's like a brand new one, and use the old ones in the one I keep. But, I don't want to try moving that monster out on the deck until the original is gone.
For clarity I did take off the whole hopper assembly and the lid. This allowed me pick the grill up by myself, and get legs and such installed
