Pulled Pork cooking

We are having a barbecue at work and i wanted to do pulled pork, but I have a problem. Where I live (apartment) there's no place to Barbecue overnight and at work I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the smoker on overnight unattended while its smoking until I arrive in the morning.

My question is this, since it takes 10-12 hours to smoke, Is it possible to partially oven cook it at 225 for 6 hours then bring it to work in the morning and smoke it for the remaining 4-6 hours? Would it be acceptable (smoke-ring/tenderness/juiciness)or should I just bring smoking that cooks faster?

cook the high heat way and yer good to go. meat doesn't like taking in smoke after 145 or so. some say 165 so take yer pick. folks will get a kick watching the process and the anticipation will drive them nuts.
