Price increases


 
Actually, China produces more than both of them combined and India is not far behind, The USA is 4th after Russia. Of course everything is global and will affect prices. Fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides and fuel costs will all cause our agricultural prices to soar.
The problem is that we are currently the largest food importer in the world at the moment, while we pay or order our farmers to not plant some of their fields, block cattle grazing from a vast portion of our western lands and charge for it on others, over regulate small butcheries... the problems are numerous.

Increases will continue through this year, but the really nasty times will be next year most likely.

Agreed. Once the planting timeline is missed…. compounded with impact that the lack of fertilizer has on yield. Things are going to get ugly.
