Prepping Baby Backs

This weekend I opened a cryovac package of baby back ribs and two of the three slabs had these small, separate "knuckle bones" (for lack of a better word) at the end of, and inbetween, the rib bones for about half the length of the rack.

I've never seen these before. I removed a few of them, but decided to leave the majority.

Should I have removed those bones?
 
I noticed on one of the grilln' and chill'n show that Blind Dog, the guy that had the special rig built by Southern Yankee, was removing these from loin backs. I hadn't heard of this before, but I do spares almost excusively.
