Power supply amperage range?

What is the amperage range for the power supply/adapter?

The wiki says "12V 1A (or greater) power adapter".
Is there a maximum amperage?

I don't think so. The only difference would be amount of electricity the power supply uses while in standby.

Yup there's no upper limit practically. HeaterMeter just needs a power supply that can put out 500mA constantly, but due to to the variability of cheap power supplies we list it as 1A. The amperage rating on the power supply is just the most it can supply, so if you use less it is ok. 1A, 2A, 20A, no problem!
