Possible to Hold Cooked & Unpulled Butt for Four Days for Office Potluck?

After an overnight cook, I've got two 5 lb butts wrapped in foil and resting. Is it possible to wrap and cool one so I can bring to an office potluck in four days? I can re-wrap tighter with foil and saran wrap, I do not have a fancy food wrapper. Do I freeze or leave in the frig? How would I reheat? Pull, place into a pan then reheat or reheat whole to temp then pull? What oven temp, time or int temp?

I was going to cook a butt on Wed evening but life got in the way. I have frozen pulled meat stuffed in quart sized ziploc freezer bags. I thaw for 2-3 days then reheat in a microwave. The meat is noticeably drier then fresh pulled.

Thanks :)

I would suggest pulling now and then storing it for the feast. It will pull easier now then waiting the four days. I think you should be good to put the pulled pork in an air tight, like Tupperware, container and get it in the refrig for four days. If you were looking to keep it longer, say a week or more, freezing would probably be best.
When I smoke butts I always do as much as I can, pull it all, then freeze what is not going to be eaten in the next few days. I rewarm in a croakpot with just a little BBQ sauce and/or apple juice.
Good luck and have fun impressing your coworkers.

I would suggest the same. For food safety it's better.

Either way you go, it is essential that the meat be cooled relatively quickly. Pulled or not, do not pack or wrap hot or even warm meat and then put it in the fridge - cool it first before cold storage.

Thanks a bunch!!! I just finished pulling and stashed and stuffed 3lbs in a Tupperware container. I left it unopened on the counter for 30 mins to cool down then covered & stored it in my frig.
