Pork butts and ribs question

I'm planning on cooking 2 pork butts and 3 slabs of ribs over the weekend. After about 12 hours into the pork butt cook, I plan on adding the ribs to the top grate. My realize that as soon as I add the cold meat, the temperature will take a bit hit. I use RO lump, and expect to add more fuel to the fire at said time. What is the best technique to add more lump charcoal to a fire that is beginning to lose its heat (if you used the Minion Method)? Place cold lump over the cooking coals, and then follow up with a few hot coals on top of that so it burns down evenly?

Russell, I have always added the unlit right on top of the lit when having to add charcoal during a cook. It works just fine, no worries.
