Pork Butt in Brine

Just read an article RE:Brining before smoking. The article says it really flavored up the meat. Anybody done this and if so do you have any comments about this? Thanks-
 
It doesn't make sense to me for pulled pork, which is so easily seasoned/flavored after pulling. For sliced pork I can see it, perhaps, but not for pulled.
