Plastic melted in my wsm

I think there was some plastic in my bag of lump. I never saw it when I poured the lump in, but the smell and the small piece I ate sure was bad. When I cleaned out the smoker there was a hard mass glued to the bottom. I had such a hard time getting it out that I scratched through the enamel.
I plan on filling the bowl this weekend and letting it burn hot until it runs out of fuel. Will this be enough to clean out any residue left inside and make it safe to use again?
 
Never took pics, I got it all out by scraping it. Just worried about the smell from the burnt plastic is still strong throughout the whole inside. After scrubbing it down. I will try a high heat burn off, if it still smells I am thinking oven cleaner.
