Depends upon your temp. SB has had some problems with low temps recently. Basically, below about 40 degrees. Simply set your temp at 200 degrees and you should be fine if you have done all of the updates.

Yes. Cook as you normally do and you can compare the taste to cooks on other cookers. I’m in Florida and smokeboost acted up on my last Jerky cook. Temp in the seventies. Find out what it will do cooking your way and then decide if you need smokeboost. Hopefully the next firmware upgrade, due - whenever?, will fix the smokeboost glitches.
If you want more smokey flavor without SmokeBoost, put your meat on immediately while the SmokeFire is warming up to temp. I have had good results this way.
