Pit Boss Pro?

I'm a Weber Gasser guy but I've been wanting to try a pellet pooper. Something small but needs to be well built. Anybody have any experience with this little guy? It sells new for $450 and this one's been used a couple times and they're asking $200. I'm considering offering on it but I was wondering if anyone has any advice or knowledge about this Pit Boss Pro?

There was a member here who bought one. But, he got a little disillusioned and left the forums. Anyway he liked it. I think pellet grills are a little like griddles. People have high hopes for their abilities then get tired of dealing with some of the stuff needing to be done. So, they're pretty easy to find in decent shape. PB is a good product. IMO though, because of it's miniscule size you may end up being frustrated with it. Especially if you want to take on things like multiple full slabs of bones, pork butts, briskets and such. Even my Members Mark which is at least 30% larger than this can frustrate me on a larger cook.

I like the small size but after I posted this I saw that ninja flex flame and it looks pretty cool! I'm not sure a pellet pooper is for me but I'd like to try one and probably pass it on to my brother in-law.

Honestly I love my pellet poppers, but that Ninja all in one or whatever it's called, looks like a helluva great invention. I could see forgoing a smoker for something this versatile

Josh, I think having a pellet grill in your arsenal is something you would like very much. That Pit Boss looks pretty nice for the price. I am currently thinking about this new Pit Boss pellet (and charcoal) kettle to use as a weekday cooker. I still like gas grills, but one of these brings a relatively easy way to have a moderate amount of smoke flavor without the extra work of charcoal. (Although this Pit Boss can use charcoal as well.) Tom Horsman has done a number of reviews and seems to have almost all good to say about it. I like that I can readily use my Weber 22" kettle grates and accessories (including a rotisserie ring) on the Phoenix.

That looks like a really nice unit Jon. I like the ideas of multi use multi function.
Under $400 is a good price.

Josh, that Bullseye you show is the basic model 380-mine is the 380X which has a lot of nice additions to it like front shelf, solid ci deflector improved burn pot etc.
For me I like it as I don't really do low and slow cooks, and one reason I got rid of my Traeger. The Bullseye is a great replacement for a Weber kettle. Steaks, chicken burgers etc not to mention pizzas!
The Phoenix seems like a great grill for $400, better than the 380 which has its limits. Mine actually puts out good smoke, and adding a smoke box with chips is also an alternative for more if you want it. I must say using pellets rather than the old Performer is much quicker and far easier since I've gotten used to it.
As Tom Horsman said, the front shelf on the Phoenix is narrow, lot less ss than mine but has a lot going for it.

Thanks Bob! Definitely great points
