Does anyone know what's the max temperature that the Performer work table can handle? I'm referring to the newer plastic work tables. Had a few friends over yesterday and was about to lay a pan on rice on the table for serving, but was worried it might melt the plastic.

no idea. but i would not put anything hot on it. if it don't melt it might discolor it. if you do need to do that then i would use a tall trivet/cooky rack.

Andrew,
The Thermoset table is made for very high temps, it will not melt from anything coming off your grill.
But, as George stated, stains could be a problem.
I have silicone pads for mine, but sometimes just use a paper towel.

i would suggest calling weber just to make sure. i read the owners manual and there is nothing mentioned about hot stuff being put on it. kinda odd since they have disclaimers all over the place. hey, if it melts you can get a new one under warranty.

pretty sure it's made from the same glass enforced nylon that the handles are made.

a piece of crazy hot metal will melt it.
a pan of rice will not.
