Pepper Stout Beef recipe


 
This past weekend I decided to follow Larry Wolfes Pepper Stout Beef recipe (simply because it looked so **** good). A few changes: Don't care for Guiness so went with Negra Modello, which was suggested by another member. Worked very well. Also substituted one jalapeno for a red pepper. Used a light mix of red oak and Pecan.

It was FANTASTIC! The whole family really enjoyed it. So tasty. And it was sensational all over again the next morning when I mixed it with some eggs and salsa. Wowsers.

I bought a big chunk of chuck yesterday for this recipe too. Wife didn't like guiness so I was thinking of substituting some type of wine, Maybe chardonay. Red wine might make the onions and peppers a funny color.

Also thinking maybe scotch and water...

Anybody try this using other than beer?
