Any suggestions on the best way to load the WSM with charcoal for an overnight smoke when the smoker is already hot? Sometimes when doing a particularly large bbq, I have to extend my cooking over more than one day, so after a day of smoking, I often will want to have the pork butts cook overnight. The Minion method works like a charm when starting with a cold smoker, but is not feasible when the smoker is already up an running. Generally, I've just loaded more lump on top of what's burning and added smoke wood as well (sort of an inverted Minion method). The results have been good, but curious if there's a better way.

Jeff if I was doing a second smoke with charcoal, I would move all the hot coals to one side and then add fresh coals. That helps clear the ash.
