Kim if there was ever a grill that needed a handle yours was it, What was on there some old electrical tape? The transformation is amazing...

I now thinkings about replacing the rest of my OEM plastic handles on all my grills...this might be a winter project. I cant stand the heat the plastic handles have when you pick up the lids!
I am not sure why weber ever made that change...oh yeah...cheaper!

The temperature difference is surprising. I'm shocked at how much cooler the wood is that the plastic. I don't know what the thinking was behind that, why would they make something that transferred heat so well like those plastic handles. I'm shocked they never tried to make something better. They still use wood on the firepit so cost can't be that big of an issue. I'm sure it is but you already pay a premium. I suppose the plastic lasts longer, but at least they would have a better replacement business after the wood wears out.

I think if they were going to the plastic handles that maybe...a silicone cover would help...just saying... I really question their QA department.. maybe a safety issue..just saying...or how about come customer feedback.
