This year, we are going old school for Thanksgiving.

Heritage Turkey, spatchcocked, 275 on 22 WSM with Pecan wood. WSK gets a day off. Doing it per Chris’ article here on TVWBB.
Sourdough dressing, moms recipe, from when I was a kid.
Garlic mashed potato - Joy of Cooking (JoC)
Candied sweet potatoes - JoC
Green beans with bacon and pearl onions - moms recipe
Homemade cranberry sauce - JoC
Buttermilk biscuits - JoC
Streusel topped apple pie - JoC
Other desserts being brought by guests.

This is the traditional family thanksgiving except the bird cause that is what my kids want (smart kids). We have done different things since the parents passed but I wanted to do this to remember them.

Mom got me hooked on cooking back in the early 70s. She was an awesome cook. She gave me a copy of Joy of Cooking and off I went.
