Last year the Summit 425 that I purchased new in the late 1990s appeared to be nearing end of life. A leaky burner had directed flame toward the back, damaging the flavorizer supports and burning a hole in the cooking box. My search for help brought me here, and Jon T provided the custom-made steel plates I needed to get grilling again. Here are photos before the repair. Note the corrosion hole at the crimp in the old burner. That hole directed flame directly to the back and burned the large hole in the box. Thankfully I did not burn down my deck after the box was compromised!
The after photos show one of the grill with new burners, crossovers, starters, and Jon's steel plates. The other after photo is the one that is most exciting!
Again, thanks to Jon T and this forum. If anyone has flavorizer supports, please DM me.
