I had a heck of a time last night. I decided to smoke 4 pork butts overnight. I have two Nu-Temp remote transmitter probes and one Taylor thermometer. None of them agreed, and one of my Nu-Temps was saying my pork butt was over 300 degrees after being on for a couple hours and the temp kept going up and down like my blood pressure. I stuck both nu-temps in the vent and they were practically 100 degrees apart! I decided it's probably time to order replacement probes for the Nu-Temps. Anyone know where I can get them?

Hmmm. I just ordered 4 NU-701's from www.wireless.com today but after reading these posts, I'm not sure that was a good idea. Got them for $27 ea plus S&H so I couldn't pass them up. Hoping to use one for hi alarm, one for lo alarm and just the transmitters for meat temps. I realize that the WSM is probably the most stable smoker out there but I just want to monitor what's happinin' in there 'till I get compfortable with it. Is this overkill ? ? ?
