Not able to do It anymore so here is an opportunity

I’ve had my 1985 chocolate Genesis 2 now for three years. It’s been sitting covered up waiting for me to restore it.
Now that I’m 74 with bad legs and feet and other assorted problems which I won’t get into. I feel that it’s time to let it go.
It’s an Arizona grill and is in excellent condition for its age little to no rust, the top is pristine it has the original grates with a little rust along the bottom edges and flavorizer bars in good condition with just a very lite surface rust. Comes with a Weber grill handle light and an unfinished wood handle.
The large grease tray is like new and I bought a new grease collector tray and holder for it.
I have two other Weber gassers so I don’t need another or a lawn ornament.
It looks like it’s one of the first 2000 made in 1985, the first year of the Weber gassers.
Possibly one of the best restore candidates out there.
I don’t want to see this piece of history end up in a landfill.

The bad is the wood slats have been replaced with what looks like some type of flooring.
The good news is the Z bars are in excellent condition.
The other issue is the scale mechanism is pretty rusty
I know gas is expensive and most of our restore guys are east of the Mississippi.
But if someone in AZ would want it I could meet you half way to save some gas.
I paid $150 for it and I would like to get a $100 for it.
sure hope someone will save this rare 37 year old piece of history and bring it back to life.
Talk about a great conversation piece.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
If you have a generic question post it here as some others may have the same question.

Thanks

I would take it in a heartbeat, Rich. I would love to restore that one, just too far away unfortunately. I know you'll find the right home for it.

Rich, I am so sorry to hear you say that and so sorry you have to part with such a beauty. Orange is my favorite color. Darn, wish you were closer. Lately I have been trying to talk DH in to getting in the grill restoring business. If he can do it with Marine generators, I am sure he can do it with grills. What do you think? Say HI to Barb for me. And take good care of yourself.
