Hi guys, just wanted to say hello. I've had a classic 22" kettle for years, but came upon this forum after buying a 14" Smokey Joe for camping and was looking for ideas for more airflow to get it hotter.

Not sure about more air-flow, but maybe making the vents bigger? Also, The Vortex can really increas temps in a 22" kettle. Not sure about the Smokey Joe. GL!

Welcome! I lived in Albany for a year, went to Darton College which no longer exists. As for your question on airflow on the smokey joe, I recommend you post that question in the Weber Charcoal Kettle grill forum and see what answers you get there.
