No Voltage On Fan Output

Ok, new build of HM 4.2.4 with Thermocouple. Testing system and I think everything is working except no voltage on fan output. My meter is showing .5 volts even though fan output is showing 100%. Hoping to use this board for tonights cook but at least my Ver. 4.0 is fully functional. Any ideas? I am still checking voltages.

Q3 is not upside down. It is soldered to the board and the picture shows it the same way. Thanks for the thought.

try the fan in pulse mode (instead of voltage mode), if it works then look at the components in the feedback circuit for the blower...
Maybe post a pic of the board...

No Joy. The fan was in pulse so I changed it to voltage and still no joy. Still no fan. Went back and forth between pulse and voltage a couple of times and even rebooted after applying the changes and nothing. Will have to post pictures tomorrow if I have the time. Have to put the Raspberry Pi back in my 4.0 system and get ready to put 2 Boston Butts in the smoker later tonight. Houseful of people at 2 tomorrow afternoon. Will pull the wire mods we talked about for the two food probes before the pictures so as not to confuse the picture. All food probes react properly as well as the TC. So far just the fan is the problem. Any chance the ATmega could be the problem? I used one I had left over from the 4.0 build that had already been programmed.

Did that already but I may put in the new one I have sitting here just to make sure but I will have to do it later as I to get ready for tonights overnight cook. Holidays sure do mess with this fun stuff.

Another guy not too long ago was having low fan voltage and re-hit Q3 and a few other components again with solder and got it working. So it's probably a solder joint or like you said, maybe your ATmega. Good that you have a 4.0 for the cook! Happy New Year!

Replaced the ATMega and all seems good. Have fan voltage and all else seems good. Have to order another ATMega for next weeks build. This will be a good test for the thermocouple. Happy New Year.

Well it is 7AM and the new HM is working great. Two Boston Butts on the 22 looking good. Used a clear plastic box to protect the HM until my case and RotoDamper arrive in the next week or so. Will post pics in that forum when food has been eaten. To Bryan and Ralph and many others, we all owe them a huge thanks for the WONDERFUL job they do for us!!!!

THANKS

Thanks all. After figuring out the problem all worked perfectly for the New Years Eve cook. All guests loved the pulled pork and my wife said it was the best she ever had. One more build to go.

Well I verified the problem today. I replaced the ATmeg and reloaded software with the latest setup and all works great. Fan output is fine now. Something with the ATMeg from my leftover parts from my 4.0 build. Now have 2 of the 4.2.4 boards and I guess it is time to retire the 4.0 system.
