Ninja Woodfire Action

Since the kids moved out--though they both live around the corner--most dinners include just the Wife and myself. Not that it's a reason not to use one of the more authentic smokers but we bought a Ninja Woodfire a few months ago and I find myself using it somewhat routinely.

I've done racks of ribs several times and we both agree it delivers very credible results, including for last night's cook:

And here's a cheap block of cheddar for my first cold smoke on Saturday. I'll see how it tastes in a couple weeks:

These are on sale at Costco. I think it was $239. I was real tempted but didn’t pull the trigger. It looked pretty small but I love the idea behind it.

I agree but the XL is decently sized for us so far.

I did see something like this at Costco. But it appeared too small to fit one pork shoulder.

The xl huh.

I first bought the smaller one, then weeks later Ninja announced the bigger one was being released soon. We liked it well enough that I gave the smaller one to our Son when I bought the larger one. I ordered it directly from Ninja but I see it's available at Amazon now, too. Ninja link:

I was able to fit a 6.3 lb pork shoulder on the small one but I don't know that a larger one would fit. I placed an 8.5 lb shoulder on the XL model with room to spare. A chicken fit fine, too, though I don't know what size it was. The pic above also shows a full rack of ribs will fit diagonally.

We absolutely love the smoke flavor that it produces and I have no complaints about the few cook modes I've used thus far (though I have not yet opened the smoked cheese).

Great news! Thank you. I saw the small one again today. Hard to believe you can fit a pulled pork in there. Assume the bottom plate is left in? Seems like the fan housing would hit the top.
Can you control where the heat source is? I notice a top and bottom. Worried it would just burn the top and bottom.
This could make things a lot easier for those times when you need an outdoor oven cause you cannot use the indoor oven.
Too much thanksgiving, too many cooks, mesquite!
