Newbee question: Brisket on a gasser?

First post on TVWBB, and it has to be a question!
I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I couldn't find an answer in my recent searches:
Is is reasonable to try to cook a brisket low-n-slow on a Weber 2000 gasser? I have a 40lb bottle, so propane shouldn't be an issue.
I just bought a new Weber S-670 for steaks, etc. and thought the old Weber 2000 might work as an interim smoker until I ruin enough meat on it to force me to buy a WSM

Chuck, if a gasser is all you have give it a try. My first brisket was on a gasser. indirect with a grill over a foil pan full of water, I mopped it every 1/2 hour on a 4 hr cook, tried to keep temps around 300 - 350, turned out not bad for my first time. You will only get better after your first time and will learn from your experience, have fun with it.

Dave, thanks for the quick response.
I originally thought I would do it indirect at 250 or so, with a water pan under the brisket, and chips in the smoker basket (built in).
Would I be better to go with the higher temp, or is it possible/better to hold 250 in our nice 80deg San Jose weather this week?

Regards,

Chuck
