New Weber 57cm kettle, how tight should the lid be?

Hi,

My new One Touch Premium arrived yesterday, s-weet!

Quick question, how snug should the lid be? I looked at a jumbo joe the other day and the lid was really tight. On this one the lid has at least 5mm travel side to side. Is that ok?

All in all it's just what I was looking for, can't wait to start cooking on it.

there'll always be a slight 'wobble' - my JumboJoe is actually worse than my Performer - but both work fine.
get that thing lit and start grilling

Dave, I looked at a new JJ and noticed the same thing in fact I had to pull the lid off of it, it was that tight. An 18 Silver was right beside it so I tried the JJ lid on it and thought I would like to have the 18 with the JJ lid.

There is plenty of play on the kettle lids but nothing to worry about.

sideway they are not that tight but the should be rather flat where the surface meet. so if the lid wobbles then something is wrong.
