I really wanted to get the Thermoworks TW8060. But at $130 with probes it seemed a bit too much for a therm. I found this on Amazon which seems like basically the same unit, just under a different name and the buttons are a smidge different. It comes with 2 probes and is only $56.

I should have it on Thursday. This weekend I am going to do some Low and Slow on my OTG for the first time so we'll see how this thing works.

So I am a little disappointed. I received this product and the probes are not what I expected. They are just wires. I have been holding off doing any low and slow because i want to be sure I can monitor temperature properly. Here is a link to what came with the unit: http://www.amazon.com/Amico-Thermocouple-Sensor-Digital-Thermometer/dp/B005I7OPDS/ref=pd_sim_indust_4

I guess I can use this for grate temp, but obviously can't jam the other one into a butt or something. I can't find much in the way of food probes so I may just return this and pay the $130 for the Thermoworks TW8060. Or just order a Maverick... I just liked the fact this one handled higher temps as well.

I decided to return this and just get the Maverick ET-732. I see a lot of you using it and I don't see me doing that much above 500 degrees.

when i read the description it did say probes for hvac, etc. thats what those are. under it was meat probes for a little more. not a bad setup really.
