New to Me 2005 Genesis Silver C Premium

Just grabbed a Genesis Silver C Premium from 2005 off CL. Seems to be in decent shape. The center burner knob is stuck and there are a few rust spots I need to clean up but not too bad!

Registered the grill with Weber and they told me that everything is still in warranty! Getting a new manifold and hose/regulator hopefully later this week!

Pumped to get this project started!
 
Quick question, does anyone know how long it usually takes for Weber to take an order and ship it? Not the actual shipping time, just the time to get it out of the warehouse. Was told 24-48 hours before I would get an email with a tracking number and its past that. Is this usual?

Steve,

As good as Weber's Customer Service is, their order fulfillment is kind of spotty. Sometimes things ship out quickly, other times, it might be a little bit. That and I've had packages arrive before shipment notifications were sent.

I called to see if there was a mistake with anything and they had spelled my email wrong, fixed it, got the confirmation and then an hour later the manifold showed up at my door!

Should be able to get it in and be grilling for the holiday weekend!

I do have some before pictures but I need to figure out how to post them, I'll try to get them up today.
 
Hi Steve, congrats on the grill!

I just also picked up a "new to me" Silver B, and I'm going to rehab the heck out of it.

The manifold being under warranty, did they tell you how long the warrantee is for? I'm curious if my manifold is also covered, but my grill appears to be vintage 2000 / 2001, so maybe not ...

I was so surprised that it was covered that I didn't ask any questions and just happily accepted it. So I'm not sure how long the warranty is, sorry. I would just called them up and register the grill and see what they say. Can't hurt. You'll need the specific serial number on the sticker on your grill.
 
Still trying to figure out if I can post pictures from Google drive on here using an iPad. If anyone has any tricks let me know.

Boy! These things clean up real nice just with soap and water! I think I'm going to get into working shape first so I can use it and then later in the summer when I have more time I'll do a more extensive cleaning/rehab.
 
Just ordered the rcplanebuyer flavorizer bars and they shipped maybe an hour after the order was placed. Hopefully the quality matches their speed!

Dave's work is absolutely top notch! They'll discolor due to the heat and the moisture but they will stay solid for quite a long time.
