New mod no one has!!

I didn't want to hang my maverick 732 on my 22.5 WSM…I think it could get too hot so take a look at this!! It is a $1.99 marker used for the snow to mark curbs, hydrants, etc so the snow plow knows to stay clear. I cut a disk out of 1/4 inch plywood and drilled a hole in the center. Now the maverick has a nice distance to the smoker. The hook is over the rod so it cannot fall in a breeze!

thanks! its working great 2 racks of st louis ribs rubbed with kc rub (homeade) my first ribs! so far so good... 1.5 hours into the smoke in maverick shows 235 - 240

Pretty cool! I'd have to drill a hole in the concrete pad of my pit area but it does open up other possibilities.

Thanks for the idea, but fashioned a hook and hang my Maverick and my Auber on the fence close to wsm.

I made a little shelf with aluminum strip and deck board, with a felt runner on back to protect powder coat.
There is plenty of space for that aluminum to fit between the lid and the lip.
