Hi TVWBB,

My name is AJ and I recently got into these awesome grills. I had a very cheap propane grill prior to this and I purchased a Weber Smokefire to replace it. I’ve been disappointed with how my foods been tasting with the Smokefire so back I go to the clean burning propane! A little research on Reddit brought me to the older Genesis grills and I’m a firm believer that things were really made to last back in the day.

Picked up these two gems, a Genesis 1000 and Genesis 3 (no casters) yesterday. The Genesis 1000 is the cleaner one of the two but that will change soon. I have already sent an email to Dave for new flavorizer bars and grates for the Genesis 3.

Thank you all for your help and all help provided in the future!

Attached are some neat vintage ads I’ve found.

Yes, nice finds indeed! Sorry to hear you didn’t care for the smoke fire but, as I don’t have one, I can’t really say anything.
I lived in (and around) Edmonds years ago. I was delivering the Seattle Post-Intelligencer the morning the Hood Canal Bridge went down. One incredible storm!

I’m going to give that Smokefire one more chance with a brisket later tonight! Hopefully it all turns out well.
