I know, I know...we are being told the "New and improved Kingsford is great" I don't buy it. Actually, I have bought it, cooked with it about four times now, and it ain't the same..It burns quicker, and I need more of it, for the same cooks as before. Grrrrrrr......

OOOOps! I just bought 12 bags on sale. Seems like folks get mixed results, some good, some not. Hopefully a couple of years of experience will get me through....

Had a good cook yesterday, anyway, used more than with the old, just as I had said earlier. But, as long as it tastes good, will keep using it.

The change in formula and appearant price increase led me to try lump. I have used cowboy and royal oak. My preference would be royal oak. The cleaner burning smell has to be good.
I like the taste and smell of the finished product too. No scientific studies tho. Anyway my wallet voted to buy some bargain Kingsford. It won't be long before I give it a try.

The new K-product is ok...not quite the doomsday product most called it when it came out...but I'm not crazy about it nor the extra cost (up front OR because you use more)...

I've tried it quite a few times and, yup, it's different...it took me until the 4th cook to get use to it but it's still more finicky than the old product...the old product was like a tank...the new is more like a race car...
