New from Georgia

Hi, I'm Jonathan from Georgia and just joined the forum for referencing and researching. I picked up a used 22" weber kettle yesterday along with a Genesis 3 for $30 each. I think the Genesis is in overall good shape, but the back burner is a bit rusted out. I'll probably replace the burners and get it cleaned up to go for the year.

Welcome Jonathan,

the Genesis 3 looks like it is great shape for being 30+ years old.

On the underside of the control panel is a sticker with the serial number and all if you are interested. I have one very close to yours that I believe is a 1989.

Welcome from St Louis MO Jonathan - gassers are great but charcoal is where my heart lies, be sure to share some kettle cooks on the forum!

DanHoo, here's the sticker. I think it's around 1988 or 1989.PXL_20230427_152357841.jpg

Thanks John K. I figured I couldn't go wrong with getting a gas and charcoal. We moved into our first home last year and we are looking forward to having both options to start grilling. I got the rusted ash sweep off of the kettle yesterday and identified the year as a 2009. After I finish cleaning it, I will re-assemble and hopefully will be grilling within the week.
