New build - part question (DC-DC converter)

Hi all, I've been reading the forums and the github site and finally decided to build two heatermeters (4.1.3). I have ordered all the components but one, the DC/DC converter. I almost reached the end of the Internet last night trying to find one in stock.

Sorry for the noob question but are there alternatives I can use that will fit ?

This looks like it's the same one, just with the pins bent at 90 degrees. You could bend the pins back, or replace the pins with the spare pins you'll have left over from the pin strip used for the LCD.

Confirming that others have bought the vertical version and modded it to fit. The pins are slightly shorter but they should reach enough to be soldered in place securely after bending.

Why not buy the same item from Digikey?

Costs a bit more but you don't have to fiddle with the pins...
