Having a difficult time getting avrupdate to work. I have followed some of the previous threads and attempted the troubleshooting steps listed but still can't get it working.

I just built the 4.2.4 Kit and I am using Rpi B

Steps so far:

- Double checked component placement and solder conn
- Checked DCV fromtr oubleshooting diagram (seems to check out)
- Checked connectivity

Rpi AVR Connect
Tx Pin-02 Y
Rx Pin-03 Y
MOSI Pin-17 Y
MISO Pin-18 Y
SCK Pin-19 Y
G25 Pin-01 Y

- DC Voltage readings not sure what they mean:
Rpi DCV
MOSI 0.80
MISO 0.77
SCK 0.80
G25 3.30

* From Rpi with boards mated

- Rpi boots fine - LCD showing black squares

Not sure what to check next. If anyone has any additional tips or advice ... greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Dan.

do you happen to have an arduino uno/nano board around?.....my chip had (type mismatch) errors and I had to force the flash update via a UNO/arudino ide....

Thanks for the replies...

- This is a fresh kit
- I did try adjusting the potentiometer but no results
- I will re-verify the DCV on the troubleshooting diagram and Atmega
- Don't have much in the way of extra components and test gear ... newbie

Thanks all.

Dan.

It looks like some of the soldering is pretty "globby". It's hard to tell from the pictures, but have you looked closely to make sure there aren't any solder bridges between solder points on the board? Try reflowing the solder on the terminals for the processor. There might be a cold solder joint.
