Ok, it now works. I changed back the ethernet port to the default, 192.168.200.1. As soon as I did that, the wireless then became active. I don't think it made any real difference but I replaced my wireless access point today since other people (adult daughters and wife kept complaining that the wifi would drop out. The new one seems to work better but I think that changing the ethernet ip back to default is what did it. Thanks all for the help.
