Need Help with Bacon Wrapped Potato Bowls

For those of you that have made the bacon wrapped potato bowls...1) do you cook them at all (boil or bake) before you scoop out the center of the potato to create the bowl?

I don't. I think some have, though.

Depends on how quick you want them done. Par cook them and then grill hotter (to get the bacon done) for a quicker finish. Leave them raw and cook them lower (to get the potato done without burning the bacon) for a slower finish.

I'm lazy and the par cooking is another step and more to clean. Leaving them raw gives me more beer drinking time by the grill too...

Scooping out the center of a raw one is easy with a melon baller.

Use the toothpick to check for doneness. These were just a Tad underdone. I checked through the side rather than the bottom.

They turned out Great and will be better next time.

So if I put them on the grill (indirect) raw, then about how long will it take for them to cook on the grill. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

About 45 mins to an hour if your temp is around 350-400..start poking a toothpick around 30 mins, and when it slides in easy all the way to the center they are done
