Need cross-over tube

Just pick up a Weber Spirit E-210 (2007) off craigslist. The burner tubes are in great shape but the cross-over tube is shot. Weber warranty is 10 years on this part but when I called they said it's already been registered and no warranty on second hand grills.

You have to buy the whole burner assembly, not just the cross-over tube.

Anyone ever made or bought just a "cross-over tube"? where, when, how?

Part No. 3711001 Model 89524

Does it work as-is?

Might just need to get the whole set (hopefully you got a good deal on Craigslist).

Yes, it works but you have to manually lite the back burner tube. Normally, the cross-over tube is what lites the back burner tube. Gas escapes out of the 3/8" holes on the ends of the burner tubes where the crossover tube should be and is a quit large flame. This also cuts down on the gas a flames that come out the length of the burner tubes.

I'm going to try an find some stainless steel tubing, slit some holes the length of it similar to the stock tube. I want to try and avoid the $40-$50 for the burner assembly.

Outside the E-210 looks brand new, not even a scratch. Came with a tank. The grates, flavorizer bars, warming rack and warm-up basket are in fare condition. Paid $120.

I just replaced my burner tubes. Crossover tube was toast, otherwise I'd send it your way.

Making one as you described might be your best bet.

I got a good deal on CL. Just replaced burners and flavorizer bars. Now I gotta get a warming rack and warm-up basket and When it's all said and done, I'll probably have $150 in it, but it's a Weber and ought to last for several more years.

Robert,

I struggled for a couple of years with a bad crossover tube when the burners were perfect in my Genesis Sliver A. I couldn't find just the crossover so finally I broke down and bought the whole burner set that included the crossover. I couldn't be happier and wish I would have done it sooner.

I'm sure that crossover tube would have worked but I went ahead and ordered the "set" from Weber. It's for sale if anyone is interested and in the area of Spartanburg, SC. $175 to TVWBB members.
