I’d be concerned with this tape off-gassing chemicals when heated to smoker temps.

I think I see smoke coming out from your lid. My WSM18 leaked bad. I finally got around to cleaning the lip and installed some grill gasket. Worked like a charm no more smoke from around the lid of my WSM or my kettle. Now I need to solve the door issue.

Better to use flue tape that is high temp rated.
