My first score of the new season

A friend of mine told me he got this Weber Genesis Gold from one of his neighbors and he asked me if I wanted it. I looked at a few pictures of it and told him sure. He dropped it off tonight and was just going to give it to me but it's in such good condition that I would have felt bad taking it for nothing and having him deliver to me so I gave him $50 for it. I think I still got the better end of the bargain. It may need a new igniter and one of the plastic push pins that hold the cover on the side burner broke off when he was loading in his van. These are some pictures of it right off the truck so to speak. This isn't the kind of grill I usually go for, but it's in such good shape that it's quickly growing on me. Even the cover looks pretty much new.

Steve I think that looks like impressive condition for anywhere!
From what I gather, the original owner kept it covered in their garage when not in use. That's 100% believable in this case. It even has the Weber stamped stainless steel grates that I like. It's just going to be a pleasure not to have to rebuild this thing from the ground up. The thermoset tables are even perfect.

The cover even looks new. It's definitely not been out in the weather

The best part of this grill in my opinion, is the lack of color discrepancy between the plastic end caps, and the thermoset tables. It’s very evident this thing hasn’t seen extended time in the sun.

I don't even think it was ever used very much on top of that. One of the wheel inserts is a little warped, but I have a zip lock baggie full of brand new ones.

I up my trade wager to a Genesis 2000lx…

And, how does one get a baggie of wheel inserts?
I am definitely keeping this grill unless someone offers me stupid money for it. These just don't come along everyday in this condition. I take that back- you find me a Genesis 1000 that looks as nice as this Genesis Gold and we have a trade . I made them.IMG_20250317_224228504.jpg
